In 2016, a survey of blood donations in Switzerland brought to light a shocking reality: part of donors' blood, notably plasma, was being marketed in the pharmaceutical industry. This practice, which has persisted for the past four years, claims to cover the costs of blood collection. Red blood cells, intended for transfusion recipients, and platelets, essential for many patients, also raise questions about the transparency of the process.
