They're called cold cases, unsolved crimes. While advances in scientific analysis mean that more of them can be solved in Switzerland, this doesn't prevent certain crimes from becoming statute-barred after 30 years, putting an end to investigations. In France, on the other hand, the statute of limitations can be extended. In a pioneering move, our neighbor has even set up a special tribunal to deal with these unsolved crimes.
