Discovering the ALPOLE Institute for Research on the Alpine and Polar Environment in Sion

Opening in December 2022, on the Energypolis Campus which brings together the EPFL Valais Wallis, the HES-SO Valais-Wallis and The Ark Foundation, the lʹinstitut will be home to over 150 scientists in 8 dedicated laboratories over the next few years. Their mission? To study the high-altitude, high-latitude climate changes that are directly impacting our mountains, both Swiss and global.
