Does Switzerland need Europe?

Never have relations between Switzerland and its large European neighbor seemed so deadlocked. Brussels is now demanding a comprehensive agreement with Switzerland, but Berne is more divided than ever. Whether we fear for the protection of workers or for Switzerland's sovereignty, liberal Europe frightens both left and right. The government's hands are tied, and the dossier is getting bogged down.
