The Euclid telescope takes off to explore the dark side of the Universe
Légende
The Euclid satellite from lʹESA (European Space Agency) lifted off on July 1, 2023 from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The two-ton probe designed by Thales Alenia Space sʹest élaned to its final position, 1.5 million kilometers from Earth. From there, Euclid, named after the inventor of geometry, will attempt to shed light on the greatest scientific enigmas: the composition of dark matter and energy, and the reason for the accelerated expansion of the Universe.
