Galaxies are dying sooner than expected

For a long time, scientists thought that we could only observe galaxies in formation at the beginning of the universe. Now, using the James Webb Space Telescope, a team from Geneva has discovered an extinct galaxy that was only 700 million years old, a mere trifle on the scale of the Universe. Theoretical models will have to be revised.
