In Greenland, climate change accentuates the "filling in" of the oceans

An international team of researchers has demonstrated that global warming is generating ice patches in the Greenlandʹinlandsis. These patches are watertight, preventing meltwater from entering and remaining in the Greenland ice sheet as it once did. The result: water runs off the plates and into the ocean. This phenomenon could contribute to a seven-centimetre rise in sea levels by 2100.
