Guillaume Farel, a colorful personality

Neuchâtel adopted the Reformation in 1830 by just 18 votes. A few weeks before this close vote, the reformer Guillaume Farel, in a forceful preaching at the collegiate church of Neuchâtel, launched a movement to destroy statues and symbols of the old faith.
