Memory: the power of place
Légende
The wounds left by history never quite heal, but places of remembrance are there to help. When violence has destroyed everything, the presence of a memorial or access to places where tragic events took place allows victims to live out part of their grief and others to reflect. If their ambition is to symbolically, ritually and collectively say "never again", places of remembrance have always responded to issues of power and offered fertile ground for the instrumentalization of History.
