More non-confessionals and... religious debate

Today, a quarter of the Swiss population claim to be non-denominational. This compares with just one percent in 1970. Nevertheless, religion unleashes passions in our society. Can a yarmulke be worn in a public office? Does a crucifix have a place in a classroom? Why go without pork in school canteens? What separation is there between church and state? And what if it's only a cultural issue, not a spiritual one?
