Mosquitoes, environmental DNA and viruses

Researchers at the University of Lausanne have developed and tested a method, based on that of environmental DNA, to identify mosquito species present in a given location. The aim is to identify insects in the environment if possible before they transmit diseases such as the Zika virus, dengue or even chikungunya.
