Nobel for simple, effective chemistry

The 2022 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to American Barry Sharpless and Dane Morten Meldalmap for the development of "click chemistry", and to American Carolyn Bertozzi for the invention of "bioorthogonal chemistry".
