Oxygen is our medicine

During a diving accident, micro-bubbles of nitrogen can cause damage up to and including paraplegia. To help patients limit serious symptoms, emergency physicians take them into a hyperbaric chamber where they will be pressurized to crush the micro-bubbles and also inhale oxygen to help tissue regenerate.
