Born in the 1960s, "political correctness" means paying attention to the vocabulary used to designate minorities or their representation. Today it is often perceived as a form of bien-pensance, conformism, even tongue-in-cheek. Some see it as an evil, an attack on freedom of expression, while others see the positive effects of this thinking.
