Pristine 221, the star that tells the story of the early Universe

Astrophysicists at the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) have discovered a new star: Pristine 221. Metal-poor, it is a witness to the birth of the Universe, and turns previously acquired knowledge of the formation of the first stars upside down.
