In a century and a half, railway stations have changed a lot. And these changes have accelerated over the last 30 years. Open in time to the promise of unknown horizons, they have transformed into common places turned towards the city, mixing vast shopping centers and mobility hubs. A case in point is the Lausanne train station, whose expansion and adaptation to increased traffic flows is scheduled for 2030. When, why and how did this transformation take place?
