Switzerland-France: 500 years of "perpetual peace

On November 29, 1516, a treaty of "perpetual peace" was initialed by all the confederates - thirteen in number - and the kingdom of France. One year after their bitter defeat on the battlefield of Marignan, the Swiss soldiers sʹengage themselves to no longer attack France, which in return granted each canton a handsome sum.
