The principle of sight has long been known: light received by the retina is converted into electrical signals, which the brain in turn transforms into an image. Scientists at the University of Geneva have demonstrated that the retina's response to light depends not only on the intensity of the light perceived by the eye, but also on its temporal shape and the order in which the colors arrive.
