Voluntary simplicity

Sometimes it feels like running like hamsters in a wheel. A life that slips by without lʹon realizing it, between work and family and social obligations. Some people decide to get off the merry-go-round. They try to live a simpler, slower, more ecological life. This is what we call voluntary simplicity. What are their motivations?
