The Old Testament is full of powerful texts. Narratively, we witness the creation of the world before following the chaotic evolution of Godʹs people, constantly tossed from exile to liberation, from revolution to celebration, under the sweltering Middle Eastern sun. The din of great prophetic voices dominates everything. Or almost. For there also rises, more lyrical, more intimate, the voice of the psalmist.
