An impossible-to-use gift voucher

she thought she was pleasing her husband by giving him a gift voucher for an airplane flight simulator session... Except that four years later, despite multiple attempts to find a date, the simulator is never available, and the voucher turns out to be downright impossible to use! What to do in this situation?
