Nobel Prize in Physiology for work on cell oxygenation

The Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine has been awarded to Americans William Kaelin and Gregg Semenza and Briton Peter Ratcliffe. They are being honored for their work revealing the molecular mechanisms at work in the adaptation of cells to variable oxygen supply.
