Ocean surface waters are warming rapidly

In April 2023, NOAA (the US Oceans and Atmosphere Agency) announced that the average temperature of ocean surface waters was now 21.1 degrees. This sad new record has prompted scientists around the world to react. And they are not very optimistic.
