The right rate of protein production

A team from the University of Geneva has demonstrated that the rate of protein synthesis is modulated by regulatory factors that alter the speed at which messenger RNA is translated into protein. When this speed is inadequate, the protein does not conform and cannot be used by the cell. It can even become toxic to the cell.
