At the time of the vote on facilitated naturalization for third-generation foreigners, we look at the integration of these children and grandchildren of immigrants, born in Switzerland but whose origins take root elsewhere. How can they remain loyal to their country of origin while having lived all their lives in their parentsʹ host country? Should one consider returning home, or are the ties created since childhood in oneʹs homeland enough to make it a new home?
