Will the Omicron variant get us out of the pandemic?

According to a number of political statements, including those by Zurich and Vaud state councillors Natalie Rickli and Rebecca Ruiz and French Health Minister Olivier Véran, the Omicron wave will be shorter and should lead to a sharp increase in immunity in the population.
